On April 5, 2018, THE NIGHT OF THE NIGHTS, the Bavarian Film Prize-winning documentary film by the two sisters Yasemin and Nesrin Samdereli, will be released in German cinemas. Two premieres will take place on this occasion: one in Essen and – particularly interesting for you – one in the Filmtheater am Friedrichshain in Berlin ! We're giving away two exclusive free tickets , thanks to which you and your companion will end up on the guest list! The story
An Indian couple who married against the caste system and therefore had to break with their families. A Japanese couple who were forced into marriage and found it very difficult to love. A gnarled post-war couple from the Ruhr area. And two homosexual men from the USA who were only allowed to marry after they had been together for five decades and solved the associated legal problems by adopting the other.
Four couples from three continents talk openly and honestly about what it can mean to be together for 55 years or more. Whatever brought them together, whether love or an arranged marriage, what they all have in common is that they have dedicated an entire life to this relationship. For better or for worse. Maybe not always happy, certainly not without struggles - but together nonetheless. And what is there at the end when you look into each other's eyes after a whole life?
After the successful comedy ALMANYA - WELCOME TO GERMANY with almost 1.4 million viewers, THE NIGHT OF THE NIGHTS is the second jointly produced feature film by the sisters Yasemin and Nesrin Samdereli. The film was produced by S2R Film and Fruitmarket Kultur und Medien. Funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the German Film Fund, the FFA, the BKM and the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
