The story
In the Heilstätten, a dark place near Berlin, Germany's most successful YouTubers want to carry out a 24-hour challenge for the throne. The history of the sanctuaries is full of horror and brutality and reports of paranormal activity from the site continue to this day. Equipped with night vision and thermal cameras, the YouTubers want to investigate these rumors. You quickly realize that it's better not to push your luck in these frightening ruins. But when they want to get out, they realize that it is far too late for that...
Pure horror – this makes going to the cinema really scary
On February 22nd, HEILSTÄTTEN, a German mystery horror film that will give you goosebumps, will be released in cinemas. Watching a scary movie in the cinema has an incredible appeal, as you are surrounded by people who are also looking forward to thrills. However, there are a few rules that you have to follow when going to the cinema for a horror film so that the effect can unfold.
1. Get involved
Many films depend on the recipient's approach. The viewer's attitude is of immense importance, especially for a horror horror film. It starts with the expectation: If you want to see a bloody slasher film but choose mystery, it is difficult for the film to convince the viewer - unless he gets involved in the other genre and enjoys the subtler, less brutal approach. Especially with mystery horror, it is important to absorb the mostly calm, at times almost leisurely narrative style, which is skillfully placed with elements of suspense, and to surrender to the events.
2. Stay away from groups that require talking
In order to really get in the mood, you also need the right environment. There are a few pitfalls lurking in the cinema hall. One thing that can really spoil your enjoyment of the film is the close proximity to a very chatty group. Even before the film starts, you can tell whether there is a speaking group in the nearby area. Usually everything that has nothing to do with the film is discussed in great detail, even after the film has already started. Getting into the mood and soaking up the spooky atmosphere here is almost impossible. So open your eyes and, if in doubt, choose another seat in the cinema, then you'll get goosebumps.
3. Buy the right food
It's almost a cardinal rule: don't buy food that makes noise. Crunchy chips may be very tasty, but they are not the right choice away from the couch at home in the cinema. There are films where such “loud” foods are less of a nuisance, for example in action films where there is non-stop crashing and clanging anyway. Whether a few chips are crunched away during the umpteenth explosion doesn't matter at such volume. This is different with quiet films like mystery horror flicks. When the horror is creeping up on you, a badly bitten chip can really ruin the mood. So it's best to set a good example and get food quietly.
4. Don't be foolish
You already knew minutes ago that a shocking moment was coming. And you actually knew that the film would end like this before the script was even finished. And anyway, who reacts like the main actors in such a situation? Completely unrealistic... Nobody likes smart-asses and nobody wants to spend a long time being told in a daze that they already knew everything and could do it better themselves. Anyone who approaches a creep like that has unfortunately skipped point 1. And if the comments are made during the film, we would already be at point 2. The only thing missing is the chips (see point 3). Our tip: Leave it alone, just get involved with it.
