What is your funniest/most heartwarming dog story?
The story
WUFF by Detlev Buck is a comedy with heart – and dog. In several episodes, the lives of four best friends Ella, Cecile, Lulu and Silke are turned upside down. And the dogs play a crucial role in this.
Ella is abandoned by her boyfriend and adopts the mixed breed Bozer. Although this disrupts her everyday life, it also leads her, against all odds, to new happiness. Cecile is currently sliding into a marital crisis. However, the gentle dog Simpson uses his nose to not only be there for the children, but also to save the family peace. Meanwhile, cat lover Lulu is dating a dog lover - a pretty tricky undertaking. Silke, on the other hand, as a dog trainer, gets along brilliantly with her four-legged friends, but she has problems with people - until she meets ex-footballer Olli.
Top 5 – The most popular dog breeds in Germany
German shepherd dog
The German Shepherd, our friend and helper, serves his master as a companion, guard, protection, service and herding dog. His particularly strong and muscular stature gives him a natural authority. This means he can fulfill his protective and guarding function without any problems. Nevertheless, the German Shepherd actually has a very balanced and benign disposition, which makes him the ideal everyday companion in good times and bad. This is how this loyal and playful four-legged friend climbs to number 1 in our “dog charts”.
dachshund
Short legs, longer bodies and a cheeky facial expression – these are the characteristics of the Dachshund or Teckel. Nicknames like “Sausage dog” or “Nodding dachshund” certainly don’t do this four-legged friend justice, because the dachshund is very agile and an ideal hunting dog both above and below ground. He is also characterized by great self-confidence, which helps him in direct confrontation with often larger animals. As a pet, the dachshund impresses with its friendly nature and captivates dog lovers. What else can you say other than small but mighty!
Labrador retrievers
Whether blonde, black or brown fur, no dog is as friendly as the Labrador! He always strives for the favor of his owner and is reliable, gentle, open-minded and intelligent. The Labrador is very active and needs a lot of exercise, preferably with a place to swim, because the Labbi feels “at home” in the water and loves splashing around. Another great hobby of the Labrador is retrieving. This friendly four-legged friend brings a lot of joy to young and old alike and is a friend for life.
Chihuahuas
Not only the smallest purebred dog in the world, but also one of the most popular in Germany. The Chihuahua is very picky when it comes to his master or mistress, but once you have convinced the little one, you have found a loyal partner for life. The Chihuahua is characterized by loyalty and courageously stands between its owner and any enemies. The 2-3 kilogram four-legged friend relies more on high, intensive clucking than on his height. Cheeky, lively, fearless and shrill, the little darling is a perfect companion dog.
French bulldog
In the 19th century, pugs and terriers united to form the affectionate French bulldog. She is an everyman and gets along with everyone, whether single, family, man, woman, child - the French bulldog loves people and is rightly one of the most popular four-legged friends in Germany. Her strong protective instinct sometimes makes her seem a bit cold at first, but once she has taken someone into her heart, she never lets him/her go. The French bulldog Elfriede quickly embraces her fellow actors Frederick Lau and Katharina Talbach in WUFF. Little fun fact: French bulldogs can't swim because their legs are too short and their heads are too heavy.
