Schluss machen im digitalen Zeitalter

Break up in the digital age

Oh, social networks - they keep friendships going across continents, inform us at regular intervals about who we owe a kebab to in the future and who, according to trustworthy statistics, is guaranteed to get pregnant in 2017 or fly on vacation to Malle wants (or rather has to - the statistics said it).
Quite apart from these little stress-makers that you encounter throughout the day, social networks like Facebook & Co. also seem to be establishing themselves in a very special area: love. Tinder, lovoo and many others bring young and old together - we'll tell you how it works and what you can do better. But what if you want to achieve exactly the opposite and break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend as quickly as possible? And please do it as easily as possible and without even having to get up.

Break up via Facebook & WhatsApp

The fact is: breaking up has never been so easy. And fast. And outrageous. Just imagine: you unsuspectingly pull your smartphone out of your pocket, and in a matter of seconds your life has changed nothing, nothing for you. Absolute disaster: The friend writes. In WhatsApp. "It's over". And now? While on the one hand there is sadness, on the other hand a tremendous anger makes its way through tears and self-pity.

This is how you avoid breaking up

To avoid getting into the situation of being digitally abandoned in the first place: Think about what you could possibly work on in the relationship. Some tips to strengthen the relationship:

- Small gifts from time to time (flowers? concert tickets? a romantic picnic ?)

- "How was your day?" - this question works wonders as it shows that you are interested in your partner

- A fixed day a week for togetherness. For example, surprise your partner with pretty lingerie and seduce him thoroughly - be careful: you should definitely avoid these sex killers!

- Talk together about (sexual) desires and things that you would definitely like to try out together. You are welcome to give your imagination a try - try it on Amorelie ...

- Tell each other regularly what you think is great about others. Are there any points that you haven't liked so much lately? Speak to her in a polite tone. This is how you clear up misunderstandings.

A relationship thrives on communication - especially when it takes place in person. If your relationship is based on face-to-face communication, you will avoid having it end over the internet when things get tough. This is not only painful, but also disrespectful and shows that the digital demolitionist has no backbone and is too cowardly to express his concerns to your face. In this case: Be happy that you are rid of him/her.

Get out of the misery

In case you find yourself in such a situation or - God forbid - get into one: it's always good to have a few suitable answers ready. To get a bit of humor out of the situation, a few possible reactions to the digital “It’s over”:

- Stand stubbornly and act as if nothing had happened. When you get irritated looks when you come home in the evening as usual, you simply answer with the obvious: “What’s wrong? Sorry if you wrote to me - I didn't read your message." Look me in the eyes, baby!

- Log in to Tinder and maliciously swipe left when his/her profile pops up. Ha!

- Stomach in, chest out: Make sure your ex-partner's mouth stays open the next time you're face to face. Nothing is as satisfying as the (guaranteed) contrite message that follows: “You look good…”

- Finally do what you've always wanted to do (but your partner didn't). Now is the time for a change in personality, a new job, a trip around the world...

- The (not so funny) classic: delete a number. Out of sight, out of mind! Who needs people like that in their life?

In order to clear up any misunderstandings, breaking up digitally is an absolute no-go. Cowardly, but at least a bit of backbone, is proven by those who at least call to convey the ominous message (no - voice memos are also taboo).

Killing him softly: Break up in the digital age with just a few clicks.
